YMCA OF THE ROCKIES WEDDING | NICOLE + JONATHAN

Who knows how you're going to meet the love of your life? N+J have a story I've heard a few times. A young person leaves a small town for school, career or adventure in Colorado. During a visit back to the hometown, a mutual friend or relatives makes an introduction to the 'right' person, and two lives change forever. Maybe it's a form of duality when you want the adventure in life but with some things (picking a spouse) you prefer something familiar (common upbrings and values). Nicole was in a large University graduate program when a visit back home brought a casual meeting with the new young minister at the family church. "Nicole, may I introduce Minister Johnathan." I quizzed both Nicole's mom and dad separately, asking if they had any hidden agenda. Both brushed it off, but Mom did give me a finger-over-the-lips "shhh" gesture.

Bride and family got ready at Ponder Chapel, and after some portraits, we joined the guests at Overlook Chapel for a September ceremony officiated by one of Jonathan's favorite instructors from seminary. A fun reception for 40 took place in the Pine Room.

A destination wedding in May combining an outdoor ceremony at the Sara Smith Amphiteather with a reception in the Walnut Room. The homemade pies were a bit hit, and bride + groom loved sneaking out at sunset for some photos on the ridge with Rocky Mountain National Park in the background.
